You've got to work it!

The retail shelf is akin to a big fashion show. Your audience can turn their attention from you to the next model coming down the catwalk at any time. It takes only the tiniest reason to cause the crowd to decide to disregard you and your offering and fawn over the fabulousness of who’s standing next to you.

Compare that scenario to branding and packaging. Yours needs to be bold, eyecatching and interesting enough to hold the attention of the crowd. It has to be “all that” and at the same time convey the proper info in a way that the shopper gravitates toward it.
